Sha’Carri Richardson was the fastest and most fashionable in the NYC Grand Prix track competition on Sunday. (Watch the video below.)
The US athlete, who was left out of the Olympics team last summer after being diagnosed with marijuana, has set fire to his home at Icahn Stadium. to win 200 meters in fish nets.
He won with a time of 22.38 seconds, after finishing second in the 100 meters earlier in the day with a time of 10.85 seconds. Richardson celebrated his victory with a shiny style with a Nike track suit with fishnet stockings covering his arms and legs.
“I wanted people to know you could be you,” he told NBC when asked about his appearance. “Does that mean you want to be sexy, you want to be beautiful, you want to express yourself in ways that no one else has ever done before? Do not let that stop you. ”
Richardson’s courageous choice reminded the late Florence Griffith Joyner, who won the 1988 Olympic 100 and 200 Olympic gold medals and still holds the world record at those events. FloJo also followed what he was wearing. She is remembered by many for the one-legged dress Serena Williams wore at the 2021 Australian Open.
Richardson is expected to compete in the USATF Outdoor Championships starting June 23 in Eugene, Oregon.
